Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Assembly Technician with experience in the aerospace manufacturing industry. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing final parts by cleaning, inspecting, and treating machined components using a variety of tools and techniques. This is an entry level position that is ideal for someone wanting to start a career in manufacturing and aerospace.
Key Responsibilities:
Including but not limited to:
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
- Grind, sand, clean, or polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools
- Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes
- Verify quality of finished workpieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions, or testing them in working machinery
- File grooved, contoured, and irregular surfaces of metal objects, such as metalworking dies and machine parts, to conform to templates, other parts, layouts, or blueprint specifications
- Apply solutions and chemicals to equipment, objects, or parts, using hand tools
- Operate manual mill and/or lathe
Qualifications:
- Soldering experience; Certification of IPC-610(preferred) and J-STD-001, or willing to obtain upon hire
- Eligible or already have security clearance (highly desirable)
- Able to read blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions.
- Ability to use hand tools including deburring blades, scraper handles, Dremel’s, rotary brushes, sanders and grinders.
- Good hand dexterity and coordination is necessary as products and components are typically very small.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow step-by-step instructions
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing, bending, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
- Able to carry out tasks that require steady, precise arm movement for taping/masking parts
