The VPC Senior Manager is responsible for all Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) activities related to vehicle processing operations. This position will coordinate overall activities with partner manufacturing operation, distributors, export accounts and GLOVIS America headquarters. Responsibilities include domestic and export vehicle processing and tendering, as well as truck and rail production oversight. Proactively identifies, analyzes and resolves problems or issues that may arise with customer. client or employees.

VPC Senior Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate facility activities through planning with department managers to ensure facility objectives are achieved.
  • Review production and operating reports, and direct the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure efficiency and prevent operational delays.
  • Determine responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
  • Plan, direct and coordinate VPC operations. Responsible for ensuring and improving the performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability of departmental operations through effective methods and strategies.
  • Provide leadership and training to accomplish company goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization, and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
  • Implement cost effective systems of control over operating expenditures, manpower, wages, and salaries.
  • Control and minimize labor overtime, and repair expenses
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, production costs, and image.
  • Plan budgeting-production goals, headcount, asset exp.
  • Monitor & evaluate quality of all processes of VPC Operations.
  • Analyze quality data to develop countermeasures to correct process deficiencies.
  • Create and change departmental processes for continuous process improvement activities.
  • Conduct departmental process and safety audits at appropriate intervals.
  • Provide direction to direct reports to perform safety audits and reports.
  • Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals.
  • Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Create and submit recommendations for changes to the HQ Operations.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external customers, including HMMA, distributors, and GLOVIS headquarters.
  • Ensure frequent and effective communication with direct reports, as well as members of the HQ Operations management team
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications for VPC Senior Manager:

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • 8 Years of direct job experience
  • Field of experience: Port Operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with PC skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and database management systems.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications for VPC Senior Manager:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ Years of direct job experience
  • Field of experience: Vehicle Logistics
  • Working knowledge of budgets, wage to revenue and financial statements
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including a laptop computer and cell phone. The employee is generally required to spend long periods of time sitting, typing, and working at a computer. May require the ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and transport items. The estimated base salary range for the VPC Senior Manager is $124,900-$139,300. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that GLOVIS EA reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel.
