Description

American Traveler is hiring a Vascular Sonographer for a 13-week travel assignment in an acute care setting, requiring 2+ years of vascular ultrasound experience and RVT or RVS certification.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting within a vascular surgery department
  • Performs venous, arterial, carotid, AAA, and dialysis access studies
  • Average of 10 scans/studies per day
  • Department has 2 scanner rooms
  • Uses GE ultrasound machine, Vasculab ABI machine, and PACS
  • EMR: Epic
  • 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday
  • No call, no weekend, and no holiday requirements
  • No floating to other areas required

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of vascular ultrasound experience
  • Current BLS (AHA) certification required
  • RVT certification through ARDMS or RVS certification through CCI required
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required for consideration (1 supervisor, 1 peer or additional supervisor); if the candidate worked a permanent position in the last 12 months, one supervisor reference must be from that facility
  • Skills checklist completed within the past year required for consideration
  • Copies of certifications required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Perform vascular ultrasound studies including venous, arterial, carotid, AAA, and dialysis access imaging
  • Radiologist is on-site Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • No department-specific orientation provided
  • Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being eligible to apply
  • Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than a cumulative year; after reaching that threshold, a 2-year break is required before returning
  • Work history covering the past 7 years (or from graduation, whichever is less) is required, with no gaps greater than 30 days; each entry should include hospital size, unit size, trauma level, and whether it was a teaching facility
  • Candidates may only be submitted to one WVU facility at a time
