Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with active licensure
- Proven Med/Surg Telemetry skillset including head-to-toe assessment and orthopedic care
- Proficiency in IV medication administration including Lasix, heparin drips, IVP metoprolol, diltiazem, and insulin (IV/SubQ)
- Experience with central line management (PICC, HD catheter, midlines)
- Skilled in wound care, drain and vacuum-assisted closure management
- Competent in NGT/G tube care, parenteral nutrition, Foley/nephrostomy/suprapubic catheter care, and ostomy care
- Knowledge of postoperative patient care
- Certifications required: ACLS and BLS
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient care following nursing best practices, utilizing equipment such as Hoyer lifts, automated BP machines, remote telemetry monitors, and vein finders
- Participate actively in daily multidisciplinary rounds to promote patient care excellence
- Maintain accurate documentation using Altera/Allscripts Sunrise electronic systems
- Collaborate efficiently with unit secretaries and patient care technicians (PCTs)
- Adhere to scheduling requirements, primarily every other week 12-hour shifts, with some floating to similar units
