As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator in the Medical Surgical unit, your insights and contributions to patient care are highly valued and encouraged. Job Summary and Qualifications

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-focused care and overseeing all functions within the unit or department during assigned shifts. Working alongside other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and assesses nursing care in line with established policies and procedures. This role also serves as a resource for staff and exemplifies a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values, thereby supporting an exceptional patient experience and clinical outcomes that enhance overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will:

  • Assist with the admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Engage in the continuous evaluation of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, collaborating with other management team members.
  • Work with subject matter experts and fellow managers to foster a teamwork-oriented environment that enhances outcomes and service delivery.
  • Champion a patient-first philosophy and participate in service recovery when necessary.
  • Facilitate the facility's engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly check-ins.
  • Provide input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommend and execute actions related to training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy adherence, performance evaluations, and disciplinary measures to ensure a competitive organization.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of labor in alignment with patient care needs and established productivity standards.
  • Support effective inventory management and assist in overseeing supplies and equipment.

QualificationsEducation & Experience:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Training:

  • Must hold a current license as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or possess an active compact license, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 6 months.
