This RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge) role is located in Kansas City, MO at a 585+ bed hospital operating a Level I Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, and Breast Care Center, with additional orthopedic services across three Kansas City locations.
The role. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) leads shift-level operations on the Ortho/Neuro Trauma unit, directing and evaluating nursing care delivery in collaboration with the broader management team. On each shift, the CNC serves as the primary resource for bedside staff, facilitates patient throughput by supporting admission and discharge processes, and conducts purposeful rounding to reinforce patient-centered care standards. The CNC also contributes to staff development by providing input on hiring decisions, guiding conflict resolution, and assisting with scheduling and labor management in line with patient care needs and productivity expectations. Inventory oversight and supply management round out the operational responsibilities of this charge-level position.
What we're looking for.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Current, active licensure as a Registered Nurse in Missouri or an active compact RN license, in accordance with law and regulation
- Strong, recent acute care experience in a Med-Surg setting required; current or recent charge RN experience in Med-Surg strongly preferred, or a minimum of two years as a staff RN on a Med-Surg unit with experience being current (candidates whose Med-Surg experience ended several years ago will not be considered)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Schedule. Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends.
Compensation. $35.65 - $47.64/hr plus $4 sign-on bonus
