Wage: $25 - $35

Required Qualifications


High School Diploma or Equivalent
Completion of a Dental Assistant Program
CPR/BLS Certification from an American Heart Association or equivalent provider.
Completion of a Board-approved 8-hour Infection Control course and 2-hour Dental Practice Act course (within the 1st year of employment
Radiography Certification approved by the California Dental Board (Preferred)
Knowledge of California Dental Practice Act
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience preferred.
Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and dental imaging systems.
Excellent communication, organization, and patient care skills.

Job Responsibilities


(All tasks performed under general or direct supervision, as required by the Dental Board of California.)
Patient Care & Clinical Support


Welcome and prepare patients, explain procedures, and review medical/dental histories
Take vital signs; educate patients on oral hygiene and post-op care
Provide chairside assistance during exams and procedures (e.g., fillings, extractions)
Under Direct Supervision: apply topical anesthetics, take/process X-rays (if certified), chart with mouth mirror, take intra/extraoral photos, assist with matrix bands, dry canals, remove dentist-placed sutures, remove excess cement (extraorally), and fabricate temporary crowns outside the mouth

Sterilization & Infection Control


Operate and maintain sterilization equipment; log spore tests
Follow OSHA/CDC protocols and maintain infection control logs
Disinfect operatories and prep instruments between patients
Monitor PPE and enforce safety compliance

Administrative & Front Office Support


Schedule/confirm appointments and manage referrals
Assist with check-in/out and maintain accurate clinical documentation
Support inventory and supply ordering

Compliance & Professional Standards


Maintain required certifications (e.g., BLS/CPR)
Follow HIPAA and confidentiality rules
Comply with office policies and participate in continuing education
