Certified Medical Assistant
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing essential support in a clinical setting, ensuring smooth operations and excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct follow-up appointments and patient updates through data entry.
- Answer inbound phone calls and respond to inquiries effectively.
- Order laboratory tests as required and relay lab results to patients.
- Schedule follow-up appointments for patients.
- Provide clinical support and patient care under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
Essential Skills
- 1+ year of experience in medical assisting.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records, specifically Athena EMR.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage appointments and handle patient care efficiently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Medical Assisting diploma or certification preferred.
- High School Diploma is required.
- RMA certification is advantageous.
- Experience with front desk operations, insurance, and BLS certification is a plus.
Work Environment
The position requires working onsite at a clinic, Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. The work environment is supportive and collaborative, with a focus on professional growth. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K plan, and paid holidays. Upon permanent employment, there are 9 paid holidays, 15 days of PTO, and performance-based pay raises. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
