An opportunity is available for 18 paraprofessionals to provide essential support in a K-12 school setting within Providence, RI. These full-time contract positions run from ASAP through June 16, 2026, serving a diverse caseload with responsibilities focused on special education and classroom assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instructional support to students, including small-group assistance.
- Help manage classroom behavior and provide accommodations tailored to individual student needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to foster a positive learning environment.
- Support various classroom activities to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Teacher Assistant or Paraprofessional, preferably related to special education.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- One of the following must be met:
- Passing ParaPro exam score of 461 or higher.
- Completion of two years of college or an Associates degree or higher.
- A qualifying Teacher Assistant certification from another state.
- Completion or current enrollment in a RIDE-approved Teacher Assistant Training Program.
Location:
- Providence, Rhode Island serving students across the K-12 spectrum in a public school district.
