Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2026-2027 school year at an all-girls charter school located in Denver, CO. This role focuses exclusively on middle school students, managing a caseload of approximately 30 students with mild to moderate special education needs. The position involves co-teaching English alongside general education staff, providing tailored support to maximize student success in an inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for a caseload of about 30 middle school students.
- Collaborate with general education English teachers to co-teach and support diverse learners.
- Utilize differentiated instructional strategies to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining detailed records and communicating with parents and the school team.
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and participation.
- Participate in school-wide meetings and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with middle school students with mild to moderate disabilities.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective co-teaching.
- Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Passion for supporting all-girls educational environments and commitment to student success.
Location and Commitment:
- Position based at a single site, an all-girls charter school in Denver, Colorado.
- Full-time contract for the 2026-2027 school year, 40 hours per week.
