Job DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTIONPOSITION TITLE: Extrusion – Press Operator IMAIN FUNCTIONS: The Extrusion - Press Operator I will set up, calibrate, operator, monitor, and performbasic trouble shooting of extrusion and auxiliary equipment to produce clean, quality products to customerspecifications.Apply at: www.UCPstaffing.comREPORTS TO: Extrusion LeadRESPONSIBILITIES: Set Up and Operate Extrusion production line equipment. Perform all pre-operational checks for the extrusion production line. Ensure that all recordkeeping is accurate, complete, and submitted at end of shift. Follow up with Extrusion Lead and go over daily responsibilities. Maintain hourly sampling, testing, and recordkeeping of products to be within customerspecifications. Follow proper cleaning and sanitization procedures for equipment and department. Proper disposal of all chemicals. Follow Lock Out/Tag Out and all other Safety Regulations required for all tasks. Completion of Qualification Card/s for designated area and/or other job position/s that maybe assigned. Uphold a quality-conscious and food-safe culture. Other duties as assigned by Management.SKILLS & ABILITIES: Job Expertise- Demonstrates knowledge of and experience with applicable professional/technicalprinciples and practices. Strong leadership skills as well as the ability and drive to design andimplement processes and improve efficiencies/costs is an asset. Communication Skills- Effectively conveys information and expresses thoughts and facts clearly,orally and in writing, demonstrates effective use of listening skills, openness to other people’sideas and thoughts. Computer Skills-Experience common business computer applications including but not limited to: MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel. Teamwork- Develops effective relationships with co-workers and supervisors by helping othersaccomplish tasks and using collaboration and conflict resolution skills. Decision Making- Identifies and understands issues, problems, and opportunities; uses effectiveapproaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions. Multi-Tasking - Can handle multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously; has handled awide variety of assignments in past and/or current position(s). Work Environment- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often with limited supervision. Must be competent to operate all required, light equipment for UCP.WORKING IN A MANUFACTURING WAREHOUSE ENVIRONMENT:You will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine),certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping,turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working inenclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery. Must be able to standor walk for extended periods of time.COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or GED. Ability to read, write and interpret documents. Good Communication and listening skills. Must be able to work in a work environment that varies in noise level which is usually low tomoderate. You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safetygloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive and collaborativecommunication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standardhours, including nights and weekends. At times, the ability to work overtime also may berequired. The ability to perform these requirements is necessary to successfully perform theessential functions of this job.
