We are looking for a skilled and experienced Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. In this position, you will perform a combination of various administrative and clinical tasks.
The responsibilities include helping patients understand medical terminology and procedures that may be performed. They provide assistance to patients and providers, serve patients with a feeling of humanity, use discretion while maintaining confidentiality, have a positive personality, and passionate about improving patient experiences.
Medical assistant task to perform (included but not limited to):
- Scheduling patients appointments
- Keep providers’ room stocked at all times to prevent delays in patient care
- Completes B&E (billing and encounter) forms within the same day of intervention
- Maintaining and updating patients medical reports and history
- Working with patients insurance policies
- Preparing proper schedule for patients admissions
- HIV Rapid test screening
Descriptions of clinical tasks that they may also perform are:
- Prepare patients for laboratory tests
- Drawing blood of patients for various tests
- Keeping records of body conditions like pressure, temperature
- Sterilize required equipment
- Collaborates closely with Physicians, Nurses, and Clinicians
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Completion of training through one of the following: online institutions, vocational schools, community colleges, junior colleges offering Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant certification.
- Applicable State licensure in field of study (RMA/ CMA) - Currently certified as a Medical Assistant or as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Florida.
- Maintain current CPR certification from the American Heart Association, or obtain it within 30 days of employment.
- 2 - 3 years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Must be a team player with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
- Experience in a fast pace/high volume environment
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with MS Outlook
- Basic Computer knowledge
- Good communication skills and interpersonal relationships
- Must type a minimum of 20-30 WPM.
- Bi-lingual skills desired
