An exciting opportunity is available for a registered nurse with PCU and cardiac stepdown experience on a dynamic 20-bed Progressive Care Unit. This 10th-floor unit in a prominent healthcare setting in Aurora, CO, is known for its high-acuity cardiac patient population and fast-paced environment, perfect for nurses who thrive on challenge and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions.
  • Manage drips including heparin, tikosin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro, Lasix, ketamine.
  • Perform unit procedures such as chest tube placement and removal, pacer wire removal, and 12-lead EKGs.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RNs and PCTs to maintain exceptional care standards.
  • Monitor and operate medical equipment such as telemetry, transport monitors, suction devices, feeding pumps, BiPAP and CPAP units, chest tubes, and pacers.
  • Utilize the Meditech EMR system for accurate documentation and care coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • Proven PCU and cardiac care experience.
  • Comfort with advanced cardiac interventions and monitoring.
  • Excellent team player with high energy and adaptability.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Primarily 5 PM to 5 AM shifts.
