Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to work within an early childhood educational setting in Cambridge, MA. This contract role spans the current school year, providing critical support to students with special needs in both kindergarten and elementary school environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to adapt curriculum and classroom activities.
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records of educational achievements and challenges.
- Employ behavior management strategies to promote a positive learning environment.
- Engage with families and participate in meetings to discuss student development and program adjustments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly in kindergarten and elementary levels.
- Knowledge of early childhood special education best practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and families.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Certification or licensure in Special Education preferred.
