Connect Staffing is hiring a Lab Technician for a ceramic manufacturing company in North Houston, TX. In this role, you will weigh, mix, and prepare ceramic materials and glazes; perform quality control testing on raw materials and finished products; and assist with kiln operations in laboratory and production environments.
Pay:$18.00/hr
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 am–2:00 PM
Location: North Houston, TX
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Overtime: Weekly OT required
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of lab technician, quality control, or similar experience.
- Ability to accurately weigh, measure, and mix materials.
- Basic understanding of lab safety procedures and chemical handling.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in laboratory or ceramic/materials testing environments.
- Familiarity with analytical testing procedures and quality control processes.
- Knowledge of material handling, weighing, and mixing (ceramic powders, clays, or chemicals).
- Experience operating or assisting with kilns or high-temperature processes.
- Experience with equipment calibration and maintenance.

Responsibilities
- Lead-in: You'll spend most of your time weighing, mixing, and preparing ceramic materials and glazes according to specifications, and performing quality-control testing on raw materials and finished ceramic products in both lab and production environments.
- Receive, label, and safely store raw materials and ceramic samples.
- Inspect finished products for defects such as cracks, warping, or surface issues.
- Assist with kiln operations and monitor firing processes.
- Clean and maintain lab equipment, including performing recalibration.
- Maintain equipment records and daily work logs with accuracy.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Drug screen required.
- Background check required.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
