Schedule/Hours:
- 13-week travel assignment
- Guaranteed: 36 hours/week (option to increase to 48 upon request)
- 12-hour day shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Rotating weekends: Three weekends every six-week schedule
- Holiday rotation: Every other holiday
Qualifications:
- Active, unencumbered Compact RN license
- American Heart Association BLS and current NIHSS certification (must attach upon applying)
- Minimum 2 years of recent strong Med/Surg RN experience plus at least 1 prior travel assignment
- Recent EPIC charting experience required
- Strong assessment and critical thinking abilities
- Comfortable with cardiac, post-surgical, and complex patient populations
- Willing to float within Newburgh, IN and nearby KY locations (travel within 8-11 miles; ample notice provided)
Duties & Patient Population:
- Care for patients with cardiac conditions, CVA/TIA, surgical procedures, GI/urology cases, detox/CIWA, and more
- Manage cardiac cath recovery, post-operative care, neuro assessments, drip titration (Heparin, Insulin), drain management, catheter care, NG tube insertion, blood products, and comprehensive documentation
- May involve precepting nursing students or new staff members
