Job Description
The Distribution Center Supervisor is responsible for leading daily operations within the Distribution Center, driving performance through the implementation of Lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day Distribution Center operations to meet production, service, and performance targets (daily, monthly, quarterly, annual)
- Implement Lean methodologies, including pull systems, standardized work, and continuous flow, to reduce waste, inventory, and lead times
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement using PDCA, team improvement boards, and tracking centers
- Develop, coach, and support associates and Group Leaders to build a high-performing, engaged workforce
- Drive safety, quality, and 5S compliance across all operations
- Coordinate activities across shifts and departments to ensure alignment with production priorities and supply chain needs
- Support budget development and ensure adherence to financial targets
- Lead team meetings to address performance, challenges, and improvement opportunities
- Promote problem-solving at the source, encouraging teams to “stop and fix” issues to ensure quality at the first pass
- Oversee cross-training initiatives to maintain operational flexibility and continuity
- Contribute to future-state value stream mapping and execution of strategic improvement plans
Qualifications:
- Experience leading operations in a distribution, manufacturing, or supply chain environment
- Strong knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
