Job Description

The Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the SEAKR Quality Engineering organization which ensures the Quality Management System is implemented and customer and program specific quality requirements are being met. The Manager is also responsible for management, supervision and mentoring of the Quality Assurance Engineers. This is a full-time exempt position in which the work is performed under limited supervision by the Manager, Quality Assurance and is evaluated on results obtained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the Quality Engineering department.
  • Execute Quality Assurance activities in accordance with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Evaluate non-conformances to identify root cause(s) and corrective/preventive action(s).
  • Lead Material Review Board and Failure Review Board activities.
  • Analyze quality data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead internal and customer corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement and support Lean initiatives.
  • Review and evaluate Quality Engineering personnel performance.
  • Establish department goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) based on company priorities and needs.
  • Supervise, train, and develop Quality Assurance engineers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Detailed knowledge of high reliability / aerospace workmanship and manufacturing are required.
  • Knowledge of company’s operations as they relate to ensuring customer quality expectations and requirements are met.
  • Knowledge of a variety of software applications including MS Word, MS Excel and general E-Mail concepts.
  • Ability to successfully operate as part of a multi-functional team, including engineering, program management, and manufacturing.
  • Ability to work with various customer representatives on quality issues and investigations.
  • Ability to review company engineering documentation to ensure company and customer quality requirements are being met.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience inspecting electronic assemblies in accordance with IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and IPC-A-620. Active certification to these standards is desired.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic assembly manufacturing and inspection processes involving complex surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole assemblies.
  • Familiarity with ESD and FOD controls, soldering processes, AOI/X-ray inspection, and test procedures.
  • Experience in manufacturing and testing of complex spacecraft systems.
  • Experience being audited to quality standards by internal and 3rd party organizations.



Additional Information

Compensation: Base pay range is $95,000-140,000, depending on qualifications. SEAKR has very rich medical, dental and vision insurance plans, along with a generous 401(k) retirement plan. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for a year-end bonus. SEAKR offers a variety of paid leave, such as vacation, sick, bereavement, and FMLA.
