We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Payroll Operations Manager to assist team members with tactical and operational functions for multi-state payroll processing, reporting, and general ledger and tax reporting and research, within the Payroll Services Department.
What You Will Do
- Ensure multi-cycle, multi-state payrolls are processed accurately and timely for all 4 entities
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local tax and labor laws
- Ensure proper reporting, both cash and non-cash, and accurate tax withholdings from payments to team members
- Identify areas and make recommendations to improve processes and create efficiencies within processes
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any pay or system discrepancies
- Perform system administrative and maintenance functions
- Ensure accuracy of paid time off accruals
- Audit of payroll tax returns and tax deposits to ensure timeliness and accuracy
- Provide performance feedback, goal setting, training and development for all Payroll team members
- Oversee pay card program
- Oversee the documentation of payroll related processes
- Prepare reports for internal and external customers as requested
- Provide back up to payroll processing, GL, and payroll tax functions as needed
What We Need From Our Senior Payroll Operations Manager
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel
- Ability to solve problems and make sound business decisions
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of employees’ personal data and the Organization’s financial data
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Attention to detail, excellent communication and analytical skills
Experience/ Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- BS or BA preferred
- Minimum 5 years Payroll, Accounting, or similar financial experience
- Minimum 3 years supervisory experience preferred
