DME Coordinator at Lynn Community Health Center

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented DME Coordinator to join our team. As a DME Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of durable medical equipment to patients in need. Your main goal will be to ensure that patients receive the necessary equipment in a timely and efficient manner, while adhering to all regulatory requirements. You will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure that all parties are informed and satisfied with the equipment delivery process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program with a successfully completed externship experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare or medical equipment coordination role
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing practices

Responsibilities:

  • Research DME issues across platforms (electronic medical record and claims payer system)
  • Must be able to work directly with network DME vendors to resolve common DME issues
    • Requests for repairs.
    • Placement of portable oxygen concentrators.
    • Urgent and non-urgent travel requests for equipment (most commonly oxygen).
    • Urgent equipment needs due to SNF/hospital discharge.
    • Equipment coordination due to hospice disenrollment.

Skills:

As a DME Coordinator, you will use your strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate the delivery of durable medical equipment to patients in need. You will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure that all parties are informed and satisfied with the equipment delivery process. Your proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite will be essential for maintaining accurate records of all equipment deliveries and patient interactions. Additionally, your knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing practices, if applicable, will be beneficial for this role. Overall, your attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team will be crucial for success in this position.
