Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Providing communication access for students through sign language interpretation, this contract opportunity is based in Washington Island, WI. The role focuses on supporting educational settings by delivering clear and accurate interpretation services, including via telehealth platforms, to facilitate effective learning and interaction for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on-site and remote sign language interpretation services for students and staff.
  • Facilitate communication during classroom lessons, meetings, and virtual sessions.
  • Collaborate with educators and support personnel to ensure accessibility needs are met.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Adapt interpreting methods to various educational and telehealth environments.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with current certification preferred.
  • Experience providing interpreting services within schools, especially in telehealth contexts.
