Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Radiation Therapist to join a Radiation Oncology department. This role is responsible for accurately delivering prescribed radiation therapy treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and maintaining compliance with clinical and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and position patients according to established procedures

Review patient charts, prescriptions, treatment time, and prescribed dose

Set up treatment rooms and equipment in accordance with protocols

Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding and cooperation

Assist patients onto treatment tables using appropriate transfer techniques

Administer prescribed radiation therapy using modern radiation equipment

Position blocks, wedges, and accessories as required

Monitor patients during treatment via audiovisual systems

Assess patient condition and report changes prior to treatment

Ensure weekly verification films, blood counts, and required documentation are complete

Calculate surface, depth, cumulative, and total dose when necessary

Assist physicists with contours, measurements, and plan verification

Accurately document all treatments in the patient chart

Maintain and clean equipment and treatment rooms

Inspect equipment safety interlocks as per procedures

Report equipment malfunctions promptly

Perform clerical duties including scheduling, filing, and supply management

Stay updated on radiation therapy techniques and technology

Follow all infection control, patient safety, and confidentiality protocols

Provide professional, compassionate care and maintain high service standards

Perform other duties as needed
Education Requirements

Associates Degree in Radiation Therapy or equivalent from an accredited institution (required)
Experience Requirements

Familiarity with radiation therapy equipment and departmental workflow

36 months of supervised on-the-job training typically required
Knowledge Skills

Strong analytical ability for treatment setup and dosage calculation

Ability to recognize and respond to adverse treatment reactions

Excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient communication

Ability to work within a multidisciplinary clinical environment
