Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll coordination, billing, and general ledger
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reporting packages
Project Accounting & Performance Analysis
- Monitor project financial performance, including utilization, WIP, and profitability
- Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to leadership
- Help define and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
Financial Planning & Business Partnership
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Support financial strategy and operational decision-making
- Collaborate across departments to improve financial visibility and performance
Audit, Compliance & External Coordination
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, banking partners, and insurance providers
- Oversee payroll, tax compliance, and benefits-related financial administration
- Ensure financial processes align with regulatory and reporting standards
Systems & Process Improvement
- Participate in system enhancements and reporting improvements
- Identify opportunities to streamline and optimize accounting processes
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop accounting staff
- Promote collaboration, accountability, and professional growth
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, organization, and confidentiality
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; an advanced degree or certification is preferred.
• At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience, with background in architecture, engineering, or similar services environments strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with accounting and ERP platforms.
• Strong command of project accounting, job costing, work in progress reporting, revenue recognition, and financial statement preparation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with close attention to accuracy and confidentiality.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with leadership, cross-functional teams, and external business partners.
• Prior experience leading or mentoring accounting team members in a fast-paced setting.
