Job DescriptionJob Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist
Our organization, situated in Sylva, NC, is in search of a committed Respiratory Therapist to become a part of our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this position, you will provide exceptional and compassionate respiratory care to patients of various ages and health conditions within an acute care hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough respiratory assessments and collaborate with physicians and nurses to create and implement care plans.
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and other respiratory treatments.
- Manage and monitor ventilators and additional respiratory support devices.
- Perform arterial blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation to inform clinical decisions.
- Engage in airway management, including suctioning and emergency interventions for patients experiencing respiratory distress.
- Respond swiftly to rapid response and code situations as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, patient safety measures, and hospital quality standards.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, equipment usage, and home-care instructions to facilitate safe transitions of care.
