Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Looking for a new job as a qualified Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHHT)? Are you an enthusiastic and diligent teacher? Forthe upcoming academic year, we are hiring a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHHT) close to Oakland, California.

Requirements:

  • Must have an active California License in Deaf Education
  • Must have a Masters Degree in Education for Teaching Deaf Students
  • Educator Credential: Education Specialist with Deaf/Hard of Hearing Endorsement
  • You do not have to be fluent in ASL to be considered for this position


About the Position:

  • Full-time: up to 40 hours each week
  • K - 2ndcaseload
  • Provide language and communication support to students by utilizing a variety of approaches, including sign language, speech, lip-reading, and written communication.
  • Foster language development, vocabulary acquisition, and effective communication skills.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, interpreters, and other professionals to ensure the effective inclusion of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing input and recommendations for accommodations, modifications, and services.
