Traveling Paramedic – Occupational Health
Position Summary
The Traveling Paramedic – Occupational Health delivers on-site medical services at various client worksites. This role provides injury care, regulatory testing, health screenings, and emergency response support while ensuring compliance with OSHA and DOT standards. The ideal candidate is adaptable, self-directed, and comfortable working independently in diverse environments.
Frequent travel is required, including temporary site coverage and new site launches.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Care
- Assess and treat occupational injuries and illnesses within scope of practice
- Provide first aid, triage, and emergency response services
- Determine need for outside medical referral or emergency transport
- Perform DOT and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing
- Conduct regulatory exams (audiometric, respirator fit testing, pulmonary function, vision screening, etc.)
- Administer vaccinations per licensure and company policy
- Support return-to-work and modified duty processes
- Maintain accurate electronic medical documentation
Occupational Health & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, HIPAA, and client requirements
- Assist with injury reporting and trend analysis
- Support site safety initiatives and collaborate with leadership
Travel & Site Support
- Travel frequently to multiple client locations (50–90%)
- Provide temporary coverage and assist with new site implementations
- Adapt to varied work environments (industrial, construction, warehouse, mobile units)
- Maintain readiness of medical supplies and equipment
Health & Wellness
- Assist with health screenings and wellness initiatives
- Support injury prevention education and stretch-and-flex programs
Qualifications Education & Licensure
- Current State Paramedic license in good standing
- National Registry certification (preferred)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of field paramedic experience preferred
- Occupational health or industrial clinic experience preferred
- Experience with DOT collections and regulatory testing preferred
