About the Role
Decision Business Services LLC is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with 2–4 years of full-cycle accounting experience and strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO). The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day accounting functions, ensure accuracy across financial reports, and support month-end and year-end closings.
Note that this is a 1099 position.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping including Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), payroll processing, and reconciliations
- Record journal entries, manage vendor bills, and issue customer invoices
- Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations monthly
- Maintain accurate general ledger and ensure transactions are properly categorized
- Prepare and review financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Handle QuickBooks clean-ups, catch-ups, and audit preparation
- Support CPA or CFO with tax filings, audits, and financial reviews
- Monitor outstanding invoices and ensure timely collections
- Process employee expense reports and reimbursements
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting support as needed
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online (Desktop experience a plus)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Experience with payroll systems (Gusto, ADP, QuickBooks Payroll, etc.)
- Strong Excel and data-entry skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple accounts simultaneously
- MUST be bilingual English/Spanish
Preferred Skills
- Experience with multiple-entity accounting or construction/service industry bookkeeping
- Familiarity with sales tax, 1099s, and financial audits
- Comfortable working with cloud-based accounting tools (Hubdoc, Dext, Bill.com, etc.)
