Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT)

Location: Hyannis, Massachusetts
Schedule: 36 hours per week (3 days/week)
Shift: 12-hour Night Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Work Pattern: Rotating schedule (Every Other Weekend & Holiday required)
Note: No Requested Time Off (RTO) will be accepted

Duration: 13 Weeks

Position Summary

The Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) is responsible for delivering comprehensive respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. This role collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes through assessment, intervention, and ongoing management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat patients with cardiopulmonary dysfunction
  • Initiate and manage ventilatory support using lung-protective strategies
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and wean patients from ventilators
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood gases (ABGs), spirometry, and capnography
  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and therapeutic gases
  • Assist with bronchoscopies, intubations, and conscious sedation procedures
  • Provide tracheostomy care and airway management
  • Respond to emergency situations, including Code Blue and Rapid Response Teams (RRTs)
  • Support neonatal and pediatric respiratory care
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care planning
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical record (EMR) documentation and charge reconciliation
  • Train and mentor staff and students as needed
  • Ensure equipment readiness and manage respiratory care supplies

Qualifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • Active Massachusetts State License in Respiratory Therapy
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Minimum 1 year of critical care experience preferred
  • Strong communication, clinical, and patient care skills
