Position Summary
The Physical Therapy Aide supports physical therapists in providing exceptional patient care. Responsibilities include assisting with patient flow, setting up treatment equipment, guiding patients through exercises, maintaining a clean and safe clinic environment, and contributing to an outstanding patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and assist with check-in and clinic flow
- Prepare treatment rooms and therapy equipment before sessions
- Guide patients through prescribed exercise programs under supervision
- Demonstrate proper form and encourage correct technique and posture
- Assist therapists during manual therapy and modalities
- Clean and organize equipment between sessions
- Maintain a safe and professional clinic environment
- Document basic notes (as directed) in the EMR
- Support administrative duties: appointment reminders, light scheduling, scanning forms
- Help set up and break down Pilates, recovery tools, and exercise stations
- Provide exceptional customer service and help patients feel comfortable and motivated
Qualifications
- High school diploma or current college student in a health/exercise field required
- Pursuing or interested in Physical Therapy, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, or similar preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and desire to learn
- CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- Experience in a gym, fitness coaching, or rehab setting
- Pilates knowledge and exercise instruction experience
- Familiarity with EMR systems
