We are a multi-faceted distributor located in Carlstadt, NJ. We have an immediate opening for a part-time Accounts Payable Clerk.
Job Description:
- Assist in reviewing all invoices & check requests for appropriate documentation and proper approval prior to processing
- Assist in processing all invoices and check requests prior to payment
- Assist in prioritizing invoices according to payment terms
- Assist in processing check run & distribute checks accordingly
- Assist in reconciling vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
- Assist in month end closing
- Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Sorting and sending the company’s daily mail
- Assist with other projects as needed
Requirements:
- 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
- High school diploma required, college courses in accounting preferred
- Must have strong work ethics
- Must be well organized and a self-starter
- Must be able to follow standard filing procedures
- Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Proficient in Excel and Word
- Knowledge of applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems and procedures, financial chart of accounts - and corporate procedures
- Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately
