Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal
candidate will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining high-quality documentation
that effectively supports our users, systems, and internal processes. The role requirescollaboration with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, engineers,and customer support, to ensure the accuracy and clarity of all documentation.If you have a knack for communicating complex information in a clear and concise manner andhave a strong technical background, we encourage you to apply!
Schedule Details
- Location: On-Site, Laguna Hills, CA.
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop Documentation: Create and maintain a variety of documentation, including but
not limited to user guides, FAQs, process flow documentation, technical manuals,
software release notes, how-to guides, and system integration documentation. - Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), developers, engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders to gather accurate and comprehensive information.
- Analyze & Simplify Information: Translate complex technical information into user-friendly, clear, and concise documentation tailored to the appropriate audience (technical or non-technical).
- Review & Edit Documentation: Ensure all documentation is accurate, well-organized, grammatically correct, and adheres to brand and style guidelines.
- Maintain Documentation Repository: Establish and manage an accessible and updated document library, ensuring version control and ease of retrieval.
- Stay Updated: Continuously update documentation in line with system updates, process changes, and software enhancements.
- Assist Internal Training: Support the creation of training materials and assist in training teams on how to utilize tools, systems, and processes effectively.
- Adopt Tools & Technologies: Utilize modern documentation tools, software, and systems (e.g., Wikis, Markdown, Confluence, MadCap Flare, or similar platforms) to enhance work efficiency and output quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, English, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Technical Writer, Documentation Specialist, or similar role.
- Experience working with technical teams and writing user-focused documentation.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Confluence, MadCap Flare, or similar platforms.
- Basic understanding of technology, IT systems, and/or software development processes (e.g., APIs, coding languages, system architecture).
Core Competencies:
- Strong ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner for non technical and technical users.
- Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with version control and collaborative tools like Git, JIRA, or similar is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of UX writing principles or creating online help resources is an added
advantage. - Familiarity with programming languages or database systems is a bonus (though not required).
