Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long Term Care position in Alaska requiring an active AK RN license and BLS certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Work in a Long Term Care unit within an acute care medical center
- Patient care provided to long-term care residents
- Facility is a Level IV Trauma, Critical Access Hospital with 22 LTC beds
- 3x12 hour variable shifts, with potential for either days or nights, determined closer to assignment start
- Weekend work is required
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs, including facilities across the state
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic electronic medical records system
- Expect to care for elderly and chronically ill patients in a long-term care setting
- Facility provides furnished housing and a rental vehicle for assignment duration
- Housing is typically a 1-bedroom apartment for the traveler only and must be cleaned upon departure
- Vehicle use restricted to within a 30-mile radius of the facility and limited to the traveler only
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance with rental car coverage required for vehicle use
- Scrub color is flexible or business casual attire is acceptable
- Free parking is provided onsite
- Minimal to no time off requested is preferred; requests considered on a case-by-case basis
- First time travelers are welcome to apply

- Active Alaska RN license required prior to start
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside at least 50 miles from facility
- Returning employees must have at least a 3-month separation before returning as travelers
- Pending Alaska license accepted for consideration
