Position Summary:
The Manager/Assistant Administrator manages the Staff and the daily operations at the Long Term Care Facility while meeting or exceeding the standards of care & ensuring compliance with state, federal and local regulations. This Long Term Care is an age-in-place facility designed to care for the physical, mental and emotional well-being of its patients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 10-15 caregivers/kitchen and housekeeping staff reporting to the Administrator
Effectively manages the Human Resources function. Hires, Trains, Schedules and Supervises staff to ensure optimum resident care. Conducts weekly debriefs and performance reviews to maintain performance standards including corrective action and improvement plans.
Participates in the creation of policies, procedures and ensures their implementation to maintain patient care standards and compliance for government audits. Good skills with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Screens potential residents for admission and manages discharges from the facility
Manage all resident medications, clinical records and clinical appointments. Manage all clinical aspects with the Nurse and Doctors as well as involved families. Experience with Electronic Medical Records is a Plus
- Manages other functions including Kitchen and Housekeeping functions
Financial responsibilities include payroll; ordering of clinical, kitchen and other supplies; managing resident receivables and invoices
Performs other related duties as required
Able to safely lift 20lb to 50lb of supplies with help during stocking. Able to perform hands-on duties for all roles if needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- All applicants must be at least 21 years of age and have a current, valid, US drivers' license for at least one year
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in progressively responsible human services functions, of which three (3) years have been in a supervisory capacity
- Three (3) years experience preferred in assisted living, home health, long term care or hospital industries and experience with behavior modification. CNA or LPN qualification or Pharmacy Technician experience is a plus, but NOT required..
- Excellent written and verbal skills for effective communication
- Competent in organizational, time management skills, problem solving and decision making skills
- All candidates must be able to successfully pass a CORI, professional reference, and possibly national fingerprinting and driving record check
- Well-Organized, able to plan in advance and detail-oriented are paramount
- Above all, sound judgement, maturity in dealing with people, Good energy with a take-charge attitude, detail-oriented and ability to multi-task are paramount.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Supervision of up to 15 staff in three departments: clinical Care, Kitchen and Housekeeping
