A travel opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) care in Elma, WA. This role offers a rewarding chance to provide critical care nursing within a hospital setting, supporting patients with acute and complex medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, individualized nursing care guided by scientific nursing principles.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare team members to plan, implement, and revise patient care strategies.
- Administer medications via various routes (oral, subcutaneous, intravenous) and document accordingly; monitor and report any adverse reactions.
- Provide bedside care and initiate patient education on post-treatment home care, medication management, diet, nutrition, and rehabilitation.
- Record vital signs and medical data accurately and timely.
- Order, interpret, and assess diagnostic tests and laboratory results.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
- Respond promptly to life-threatening situations following nursing protocols.
- Apply Hemodynamic monitoring, Phlebotomy, and IV protocols.
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment (ventilators, cardiac monitors, oxygen pumps), ensuring proper catheter and tubing placement and function.
- Take immediate corrective actions in response to adverse signs from monitoring devices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, including Nurse Licensure Compact eligibility with suicide training verification and demographic verification via Nursys e-Notify.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Right to work in the United States.
- Proven critical care experience practicing in a hospital ICU or CCU environment.
