Role Overview:
We are seeking an OFE Coordinator / Owner’s Rep Project Engineer to support a hyperscale data center program. This role is an embedded, owner-side position that blends project engineering, equipment coordination, and PM-level execution.
The OFE Coordinator will work closely with Owner’s Rep PMs, General Contractors, design teams, and vendors to manage owner-furnished equipment (OFE) and long-lead items while also supporting technical coordination, drawing review, schedule alignment, and field readiness. This is a hands-on role suited for an engineer or early-career project manager coming from a GC or EPC background who is looking to step into an owner-side position on a long-term, mission-critical project.
Responsibilities
- Act as an owner-side project engineer / coordinator supporting OFE and long-lead equipment across multiple buildings or phases
- Coordinate with vendors, GC teams, and design partners to track fabrication, delivery, installation readiness, and turnover of OFE
- Review drawings, submittals, RFIs, and equipment documentation to ensure alignment with design intent and construction sequencing
- Support MEP coordination, with a primary focus on electrical systems (switchgear, UPS, generators, distribution, etc.)
- Maintain OFE tracking logs, schedules, and status reports; flag risks and drive resolution with PMs and stakeholders
- Participate in construction coordination meetings, schedule reviews, and issue-resolution discussions
- Support field readiness, QA/QC, commissioning turnover, and closeout documentation as required
- Interface directly with Owner’s Rep PMs (YAWN-level) and provide technical and execution support
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred (Electrical preferred; Mechanical or related acceptable)
- 3–7 years of experience in: Project Engineering, Field Engineering, Assistant Project Management, Construction Project Coordination
- Background supporting MEP scopes on large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules
- Experience coordinating with GC teams, vendors, and subcontractors
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, schedule-driven construction environment
- Prior data center experience strongly preferred
