Manufacturing Engineer / QA

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer / QA to support and improve our production operations. This role is focused on process design, planning, and shop floor support. In this role, you’ll be focused on process improvement, production planning, and supporting daily operations on the shop floor. You’ll be collaborating across multiple departments to keep operations running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes and workflows.
  • Document processes, software, and tools used in production to support knowledge transfer, training, and standardization.
  • Design tools, jigs, and fixtures with SolidWorks to support efficient manufacturing.
  • Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), routers, and work instructions in ERP/MRP systems (Jobboss2).
  • Plan and sequence jobs for production, ensuring materials and processes are ready on time.
  • Support root cause analysis and collaborate on corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Conduct time studies, capacity planning, and implement Lean / continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train and support production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices.
  • Assist purchasing team in sourcing materials when engineering input or supplier support is needed.
  • Plan and release work orders to production, including issuing materials and travelers to the floor.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, operations, quality) to ensure manufacturability of new products.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming (Mastercam), CAD modeling (SolidWorks), and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, word, power point, etc.)
  • Experience creating and managing BOMs, routers, and work instructions.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to lead hands-on projects on the shop floor.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to guide and support a small team.

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Prior experience with quality systems (AS9100 or similar).
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (aerospace, medical device, defense, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Mastercam and CNC programming

Additional Requirements
