Production Engineer- Millwork experience required
Direct Hire (Washington, DC)
Salary: $75,000–$85,000 DOE
Our client in Washington, DC is seeking a skilled Production Engineer to join their team in a full-time, direct-hire role. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with project management and production teams to develop high-quality engineering deliverables that support efficient production, maximize throughput, and enhance contribution margin. This role is hands-on, utilizing engineering expertise to create detailed 3D models in Cabinet Vision and release complete, accurate documentation for fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed 3D models of millwork components in Cabinet Vision, including cabinets, countertops, diewalls, banquettes, and basic panels.
- Process models through the Cabinet Vision S2M Center for fabrication.
- Produce clear assembly and machining documentation for machine operators and shop personnel.
- Conduct thorough self-reviews prior to submitting work for final approval.
- Demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to ask questions early when clarification is needed.
- Partner with the Lead Production Engineer to maintain and expand the product library; create or modify items as required.
- Process work orders with an approximate revenue value of $3M.
- Support gross margin goals through efficient work-order processing, measured by planned versus actual hours.
- Engineer and build complex items for addition to the product library when needed.
- Identify and implement batching opportunities to optimize material usage and machine time.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience using Cabinet Vision Core and S2M within the millwork industry.
- Strong understanding of material properties, machinery capabilities, and tool limitations.
- Proven ability to collaborate with Project Managers and Production Managers to resolve issues and develop practical solutions.
- Experience with Cabinet Vision submittals and familiarity with platforms such as Rhino or SolidWorks is a plus, but not required.
- Working knowledge of AWI standards and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Experience with Innergy is highly beneficial.
