Active Registered Respiratory Tech (RRT) license and 2+ years of in-patient hospital Respiratory Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A healthcare facility in Washington, DC is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a contract position with day shifts arranged as three 12-hour days per week. Candidates must live within 50 miles of the location and bring a strong background in pediatric, NICU, adult ER, and critical care respiratory therapy. Key Responsibilities:
- Administer respiratory care as prescribed by physicians, including diagnostic evaluation and analysis of physiological specimens
- Interpret physiologic data and perform cardiopulmonary tests and studies
- Manage respiratory treatments using protocols across various care settings
- Provide mechanical ventilatory support, artificial airway care, bronchopulmonary hygiene, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation
- Monitor and apply medical gases, environmental control systems, and pharmacological agents related to respiratory therapy
- Educate and support patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities
- Ensure proper hemodynamic cardiovascular support during respiratory interventions
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications mandatory
- Minimum of 2 years experience, specifically including pediatric, NICU, adult ER, and critical care settings
- Exceptional clinical judgment and ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
