Job Description

Contract Dietitian (Part-Time, 1099)

Compensation: $700/month

Hours: ~20 hours/month (approx. 5 hrs/week, flexible)


The Vietnamese American Community Center of the East Bay (VACCEB) is seeking a part-time

Dietitian/Nutritionist to oversee menu planning, nutrition compliance, and culturally relevant food programming for our senior meal services. This independent contractor role is ideal for someone passionate about ensuring equitable access to nutritious meals for low-income and immigrant seniors in Alameda County.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop monthly menus for seniors that are both culturally relevant and compliant with County and State nutrition standards.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between VACCEB, County nutrition personnel, and caterers to ensure contract compliance.
  • Conduct regular meetings with caterers and attend County-mandated nutrition meetings.
  • Lead four nutrition workshops per year for seniors.
  • Assess and qualify culturally responsive caterers per County requirements.
  • Provide guidance on compliance with nutrition and dietary standards while ensuring cultural responsiveness.

Qualifications (Required)

  1. State-certified and licensed Nutritionist or Dietitian.
  2. Demonstrated ability to create culturally relevant, compliant menus.
  3. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with County staff and caterers.
  4. Experience conducting nutrition education or workshops.
  5. Knowledge of nutrition compliance regulations.
  6. Ability to advise and problem-solve to maintain contract and dietary compliance.

Additional Details
