Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in a K-12 educational setting serving students who are visually impaired. This contract role involves providing nursing care in a specialized school environment, ensuring the health and safety of students throughout the school day.
Location:
- Nottingham, MD
Schedule:
- 35 evening hours from Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
- Friday hours from 12:45 PM to 3:45 PM
- 5 days per week
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid Maryland RN licensure
- Ability to push and pull over 100 pounds and lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience working with school-age children (K-12) preferred
- Comfortable working in a specialized school setting for the blind
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to students including medication administration, first aid, and emergency interventions
- Monitor student health and maintain accurate health records
- Collaborate with school staff to support individualized health plans
- Assist in health education and promote a safe school environment
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and communicate with families as needed
