Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a specialized nursing role dedicated to providing excellent care on a busy 28-bed Progressive Care/Intermediate Care Unit (PCU/IMCU) focused on cardiac patients. This contract role offers the opportunity to support a diverse cardiac population, including STEMI, NSTEMI, CTS, and chest pain cases, in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Schedule/Hours:
- Variable shifts based on facility needs.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license is required.
- Proven experience in PCU (Progressive Care Unit) settings reflected in prior work history.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in facilities of similar size and acuity.
- Documented background caring for cardiac patients, including handling STEMI, NSTEMI, and cardiac surgery cases.
- Required certifications: BLS and ACLS (current and active).
- Comfortable with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 to 1:4.
- Proficient with cardiac drips such as Milrinone, Dobutamine, and Pressors.
- Experience floating to telemetry beds, managing patients with lower acuity as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe, comprehensive care to cardiac patients in a high-acuity PCU/IMCU setting.
- Monitor and manage advanced cardiac drips and respond to rapid clinical changes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for patient assessment, intervention, and discharge planning.
- Accurately document all aspects of patient care and adhere to facility standards.
- Rotate to telemetry beds and provide the same level of high-quality nursing services to patients with less critical needs.
- Ensure all required demographic information is up to date, including badge-appropriate photo.
