FQHC Director of Operations

Role Overview

This is a hands‑on Operations Director role responsible for day‑to‑day operations across 18 FQHC clinic sites. The role requires a strong executor, not just a strategic thinker—someone comfortable putting out fires, driving clinic performance, and managing through ambiguity. This position reports into executive leadership and works closely with Clinic Managers, the CFO, and CEO.

MUST HAVE

  • FQHC Experience as an Operations Director (Critical due to audits, compliance, and P&L complexity)
  • 10+ years of healthcare operations experience
  • Minimum 5 years as an FQHC Operations Director
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in nonprofit medical / FQHC environments
  • Strong people leadership across managers and physicians
  • Comfortable owning clinic P&Ls and revenue performance
  • Operational executor who can hit the ground running

Nice to Have

  • Master’s Degree (highly preferred, not required)
  • Bilingual in Spanish

Description

The Operations Director is a member of the lead management staff of Northeast Community Clinic, responsible for the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures across the organization designed to promote optimal quality, efficiency, profitability and productivity. The Operations Director is responsible for all clinical operations and works closely with the Medical Director to ensure quality of standards and compliance. As a Director, this position is responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic direction, operations and ensures performance of the organization aligns with mission, vision and goals to achieve organizational growth and success

Key Responsibilities

  • Full operational oversight of 18 clinic sites
  • Directly manages 10 Clinic Managers, including:
    • Call Center Manager
    • Transportation Department Manager
  • Owns day‑to‑day clinic operations across all sites
  • Extremely hands‑on with clinic leadership and supervisors
  • Floats regularly to clinics to ensure operational consistency and performance
  • Drives revenue, operational efficiency, and clinic productivity
  • Works closely with finance and leadership on P&Ls and performance metrics
  • Available and responsive to urgent/SOS operational issues

Schedule & Expectations

  • Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
  • Must be flexible and reachable for urgent issues
  • Based out of Alhambra HQ, but constantly in clinics (some sites share buildings)

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Alhambra, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $150000.00 - $190000.00/yr.
