Currently, we have an immediate opening for a Financial Services Trainee to join our team!
We are recruiting Trainees in the following locations:
- Federal Way, Washington
- Thousand Oaks, California
- Tempe, Arizona
The Financial Services Trainee is an entry-level position and is primarily responsible for providing consultative assistance to members with the ultimate goal of improving their financial lives. Trainees will either work in a face-to-face capacity at a regional office or work on a hybrid schedule.
Typical responsibilities:
- Providing a consultative approach in uncovering needs for various FFCU financial products and services to meet members’ short and long-term financial needs.
- Utilizing firefighter lifestyle and lifecycle knowledge to connect with members, creating trust and opening dialogue.
- Assisting members with completing consumer loan applications which includes underwriting consumer loans and making decisions to grant loans within designated authority and timeframe.
- Processing and managing member accounts and related transactions such as deposits (e.g., savings and checking), investment accounts (e.g., Certificates, IRAs, Trusts), and/or opening new and sub-accounts.
- Processing new card orders, PIN changes, reissuing cards, and performing other duties related to card fraud claims/disputes.
- Processing cash transactions for members, maintaining cash drawers, and daily balancing of vaults and branch cash (for branch employees).
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in 2024 or 2025 calendar year.
- Strong desire to be of service to our members, firefighters and their immediate families, and to help them with their financial needs.
- All candidates must be bondable and maintain bondable status throughout employment in accordance with credit union regulatory requirements.
