This contract opportunity offers placements across various elementary, middle, and high schools, lending your expertise to SPED classrooms and general education settings. Flexibility is key, as your skills may be matched to either 1:1 or classroom-wide support, with openings available for both the upcoming Extended School Year (ESY, June 1-25) and the start of the next school year in August.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a paraprofessional, particularly working in SPED environments
- Active Substitute Certificate listed on the DESE website (required for all candidates)
- Comfortable assisting with toileting, changing, and supporting students with behavioral needs
- Willingness to work across K-12 grade levels based on district needs and preferred age groups
- Ability to float between assignments throughout the district as required
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide crucial support to teachers and students in a variety of classroom settings
- Assist with behavioral management, academic tasks, and personal care activities
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for learners with diverse needs
- Communicate actively and professionally with staff, students, and other support personnel
- Adapt quickly to changing assignments and schedules within the district
