Job Description
Head-Royce School is seeking an Upper School Science teacher, with expertise teaching Biology and a commitment to using the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) framework for teaching science. While Biology is a necessity, candidates who can teach Physics or Chemistry in addition are preferred.

The School seeks applicants who have experience in culturally responsive education and an understanding of how adolescents learn. Head-Royce teachers participate beyond the classroom as advisors and also as affinity group and club leaders.

Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in related field;

Understanding of and experience in applying best practices in anti-racist education;

2-5 years teaching experience, and demonstrated desire to teach in the Upper School.
- Ability to participate in an outdoor education trip for 3-4 nights (additional stipend paid)
- Ability to provide proof of Livescan, SB848 as well as TB clearance
Additional Qualifications
- Advanced degrees/certification are desirable in science and/or education.

HRS is unable to provide immigration sponsorships such as H1B Visas. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and be willing to undergo both Livescan background check and TB screening as part of the hiring process.
