Position Overview:
An established and growing plumbing company in East Lansing, Michigan is seeking a licensed Master Plumber to serve as the company’s license holder and technical leader.
This is a long-term leadership opportunity for someone who wants to shape culture, mentor technicians, and help grow a solid residential and light commercial plumbing team.
The role offers flexibility — you can remain hands-on in the field if you enjoy service and installs, or operate in a more oversight-focused leadership capacity. The ownership team is open to structuring the position around the right individual’s strengths.
Current Team:
• 6 plumbers total
• 3–4 Journeyman Plumbers
• Remaining team members are Apprentices
• Growth-focused company looking to expand the team
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the company’s Master Plumber and license holder
• Pull permits and ensure compliance with Michigan plumbing codes
• Provide oversight and guidance to journeymen and apprentices
• Mentor and train team members to elevate workmanship standards
• Help shape company culture and best practices
• Visit job sites to support technicians and ensure quality control
• Assist with bidding and reviewing jobs when needed
• Support long-term operational growth
This is not a micromanagement role — it is a leadership and mentorship opportunity with real influence.
What We’re Looking For:
• Active Michigan Master Plumber License (Required)
• Strong knowledge of residential plumbing systems
• Ability to oversee and mentor journeymen and apprentices
• High standards for workmanship and code compliance
• Leadership mindset with a long-term outlook
• Interest in helping grow and scale a team
