OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB:
To work within department to achieve minimum production time, standards and quality in keeping with company policies, while maintaining a positive and motivated team environment. This position requires knowledge of Shipyard processes and standards.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in welding or a similar trade, shipyard experience is a plus
- Strong reliability and accountability, as he will need to have the ability to serve as the main point of contact with the government for submitting hot work sheets
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Computer and Microsoft Office suite savvy
- Willingness to learn, as we could also provide training for the ideal candidate
Hot Work Coordinator duties will include:
- Approve hot work authorization when it is ready to commence; confirm that the hot work has ended by signing on appropriate documents
- Participate in each Fire Safety Council (FSC) meeting to support adjudicating each request for deviation
- Submit each hot work authorization form to the designated representative
- Prioritize allocation of hot work authorization forms daily based on the integrated production schedule
- Prepare and submit appropriate documents and forms for government review
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not
limited to the following:

Efficiently track all daily and weekly production progress for EVMS regulations.

Update and compile all department metrics.

Ensure the schedule is updated and turned in on time to department Leadership.

Produce weekly metrics based on weekly production progress.

Create Weekly CPI reports for Managers and Foremen.

Analyze Winsite data to produce accurate VARS and evaluate EVMS metrics in relation to the CAM’s control accounts.

Keep track of all Rework forms sent and all new charge numbers received.

Research of all discrepancies in mischarges and Actuals with No Status received and be able to resolve them quickly and accurately.

Daily administrative duties include printing off of work packs for Foremen as requested, retain all work packs closed and send to document control, Labor

Cost Code Corrections forms and support Administrative Assistant as needed.

Perform essential administrative duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum 5 years related experience. College degree and ship building industry experience preferred.

Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and performance measurement techniques desired.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Production Schedule systems.

Must be proficient in MS Word, Access and Excel.

Good organization skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and be self motivated
