Job Title: Medical Assistant - Oncology/Hematology
Location: Tamarac, FL 33321
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our Oncology and Hematology team. This role is essential in supporting providers, assisting with specialized procedures, and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities

Room patients and prepare them for oncology and hematology appointments.

Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, chief complaints, and treatment-related symptoms.

Perform phlebotomy and properly process and label laboratory specimens.

Assist providers with in-office oncology procedures, including bone marrow biopsies.

Prepare procedure rooms and ensure proper sterile technique is maintained.

Administer injections and medications as directed by the provider.

Support patient education and provide comfort to patients undergoing treatments or procedures.

Clean, stock, and maintain exam and procedure rooms.

Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

Communicate effectively with providers, nursing staff, and infusion teams to support coordinated patient care.
Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; certification preferred.

Strong phlebotomy skills required.

Prior experience in oncology, hematology, or a specialty medical practice preferred.

Comfortable assisting with invasive procedures.

Excellent communication, organizational skills, and strong attention to detail.

Compassionate, patient-centered approach in a fast-paced clinical setting.
