This Special Education teaching role is a contract position, half-time (20 hours per week), making it ideal for someone seeking meaningful work with a balanced schedule. You'll be providing services for the full academic year, from August 11th through May 21st.

Qualifications:

  • Valid CDE Special Education (SPED) License with Generalist Endorsement is required; applicants must have already applied for the correct endorsement and be able to provide proof—it should read “Professional Teacher License #000000, Endorsed In: Special Education Generalist (5-21)”
  • Experience in teaching and instructional practices, particularly in Special Designed Instruction and supporting students on alternative academic standards
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the IEP process, including developing, implementing, and monitoring plans
  • Demonstrated skills in effective collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
  • Not open to VOCO or hybrid teaching; onsite presence required throughout the contract

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored Special Education instruction to high school students, focusing on individualized learning needs and alternative standards
  • Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and families to support student progress and achievement
  • Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in line with regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Engage in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing communication to enhance student support
