CNC Lathe Programmer | Kentwood, MI
Salary Range: $60,000 - $95,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Develop CNC programs for Lathe machines using CAD/CAM software.
- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine optimal machining processes.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices.
- Simulate and verify CNC programs to ensure accuracy and prevent collisions.
- Optimize existing programs for improved efficiency, cycle time, and tool life.
- Collaborate with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot and refine machining processes.
- Document and maintain revision control for all CNC programs.
Recommended Qualifications
- Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming for CNC lathes.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
- Experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Esprit, GibbsCAM) for generating toolpaths.
- Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, and material properties for various metals.
- Ability to optimize programs for efficiency, tool life, and surface finish.
